Insurgents in Iraq attacked Humoody Smith when he was 2. After he was shot in the face and blinded, his parents sent him from Baghdad to Snohomish to get medical help. Humoody has resided with his host parents in the United States, Randy and Julie Smith, in order to receive reconstructive face surgery, medical attention and live a better life. Now, using new technologies and help from supporters he is focusing on his goal to live independently.
